Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve

Today we were on the road very early because we were going to the Devil's Table in the Palatinate Forest. Experiencing the Palatinate Forest at sunrise or sunset is a real highlight in every respect. At first glance, you hardly believe you are in Germany when you see the drone shots.

The species-rich mixed forests, sunny meadow valleys and mighty rock towers make Germany's largest contiguous forest area simply unique. Because of its special exemplary and model character, UNESCO recognised the Palatinate Forest as a biosphere reserve in 1992, and since 1998 it has formed Germany's only cross-border biosphere reserve together with its French partner, the Northern Vosges Nature Park.
