People photography? What does that actually mean?

Today we were on the road for pictures of the showrooms for Interhomes AG in Cologne. At the same time, we also took pictures of the employees. As the term implies, people photography basically includes any kind of portraiture of people. This includes e.g. Business- und Bewerbungsfotos, Teamfotos und Portraits. Aber auch Hochzeitsfotografie, Werbefotografie von Menschen, Kinderfotografie, Familienfotografie oder Fashion- und Lifestylefotografie gehört dazu. All diese Begriffe verschwimmen natürlich in gewissen Bereichen miteinander, daher ist das Wort „People Fotografie“ wirklich nur ein grober Oberbegriff. In all diesen Bereichen stehen allerdingsMenschen im Mittelpunkt des Geschehens. Wir spezialisieren uns in diesem Fall konkret auf das Thema: Portrait-, Lifestyle- und Werbefotografie.

These three terms alone leave a lot of room for interpretation. Our main focus here is also outdoor or on-location photography. This takes the form of pictures in nature, pictures at locations matching the theme or pictures in your own home. Of course, typical lifestyle pictures in your favourite café in the city centre, for example, are always a good choice. So people photography is clearly about you. About you as a person and about your personal story about yourself, which these pictures should ultimately convey.

How do you achieve our goals with us?

Here, we will be happy to advise you on your request and select the suitable locations and the appropriate picture language together with you. Together with you we find out in which direction your shooting should go and with the help of so called Moodboards a good orientation guide for the planned photo shoot. They provide structure and inspiration and also serve as a checklist of ideas.

People photography is not only interesting for private individuals, but also especially for self-employed people, companies and start-ups. Companies in particular want to use people photography to communicate with their customers as part of their marketing strategy. The picture alone should therefore convey a message. This could be the image of an experienced craftsman working on a construction site. It is just as conceivable to depict the customer advisor in a sales talk in an appropriate situation. Teams can also be photographed interacting with each other. Here, people photography directly intervenes in advertising photography, without having to be about products. If it does, then products can be marketed well by including people in the shoot. In this way, the products lose their anonymity and appeal to the potential customer on a more emotional level.

It is important to present people authentically, because pretending is usually conspicuous. I particularly look forward to such projects with you, because I love to work out individual concepts and implement them in a high-quality way.
