Why a strong visual appearance is crucial today

In today's digital world, seconds decide whether someone stays on your profile or scrolls on. Especially on platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn or your website, the first visual impression is crucial. And this is largely determined by your photos. If you want to appear authentic, professional and approachable at the same time, you don't just need pretty pictures - you need photos for social media that are strategically thought through.

I am Leandra Weber, a photographer for business, sedcard and personal branding content for over 11 years. During this time, I have worked with over 300 self-employed people, coaches, consultants and entrepreneurs - online and offline, in Frankfurt and Mallorca. My focus: business photos for social media that don't look fake, but real - but professional. Because people don't buy products - they buy people. And your visual appearance is your strongest selling point.

Teamwork for strong results

I don't work alone, but as part of a team. This includes my husband and videographer Erik, my experienced photo editor and second shooter Hannah (particularly helpful for larger shoots) as well as a network of stylists and make-up artists, who - if desired - will prepare you in the best possible way. The result: you not only get beautiful pictures, but also a professional appearance that works on all levels.

Two locations - twice the possibilities

My clients have the choice: Frankfurt for the urban, modern business look. Or Mallorca, if you want to capture the Mediterranean lifestyle - for relaxed, warm images with personality. Many even book both: for example, business photos in Frankfurt and a relaxed social media shoot on Mallorca. A perfect combination for year-round content.

Personal brand photo shoot

Why good photos are essential for social media

Professional photos for social media are not a luxury, but an investment in your digital visibility. At a time when you are expected to post regularly, record reels, talk about yourself and sell offers, you need a visual toolbox that is a reliable companion.

First impressions count - immediately

When someone comes to your profile, the overall visual image determines the next click. A good photo conveys: Trust, competence and likeability - before you have even written a word. Especially on LinkedIn or Instagram, your profile photo, header image or a coherent feed is what makes customers want to contact you.

Recognisability & brand building

A well thought-out social media shoot provides you with images that match your business in terms of colour, style and atmosphere. If you create recognisable looks - be it through recurring outfits, props or backgrounds - your brand will be remembered. And that is the key to visibility and trust.

Selfie vs. professional photo - the big difference

Of course, you can also take a few nice pictures with your mobile phone. But the question is: Do your desired customers want to see you like this? Professional social media photos are optimised in terms of lighting, well thought out in terms of composition and precisely tailored to your goals. No blurred image, no strange framing, no unfavourable moment - just you at your best without looking inauthentic.

What types of photos are suitable for social media

A good social media shoot thrives on diversity - because your content is diverse, so your images should be too. Here is an overview of the most important types of photos that I regularly realise for my clients in Frankfurt and Mallorca:

Business portraits - professional, but approachable

You need these images for your LinkedIn profile, your website or your speaker CV. They show you as clear, focussed and competent - but never rigid or artificial. I make sure that your personality is visible without the images appearing too „cool“ or distant. Authenticity is the key here too.

Lifestyle images - for closeness and personality

Your followers not only want to see what you do, but also who you are. With lifestyle photos, we show you working, laughing, thinking, walking - in short: in real life. Especially on Instagram or in stories, these photos create closeness and trust.

Close-ups - your everyday life in pictures

Laptop, smartphone, notebook, your hands while writing, an espresso on the table - these small details tell a lot about your everyday life and the way you work. They are perfect as visual filler material for feed posts, blog articles or newsletters and also add variety to your content.

Storytelling elements for Instagram & LinkedIn

You don't just want to „show“ on social media, you want to tell? Then you need images that convey little stories: how you work with customers, sit on a Zoom call, are out and about, explain your offer. We stage all of this in a targeted way - but without making it look staged. This creates content that connects.

How a social media shoot works

A social media shoot is not a stiff studio activity, but a dynamic, creative process in which you can - and should - feel comfortable. To achieve this, I organise everything in a structured but relaxed way. Whether in Frankfurt or on Mallorca - together we create images that tell your story.

Preliminary discussion, strategy & storyboard

It all starts with an intensive planning meeting - via Zoom or by phone. We talk about:

  • Your brand & target group

  • Your platforms & formats

  • Your tonality & personality

From this, I develop a customised shooting concept that suits you - including image ideas, locations, props and outfit recommendations. So we don't start blindly, but with a clear vision.

Outfit advice, styling & preparation

You will receive a checklist, outfit guides and - if desired - support from my stylist or make-up artist in advance. Together, we'll make sure that your looks suit both you and your brand's visual language. Colours, cuts, textures - all tailored to your branding.

Shooting day with different looks & locations

We take 2-4 hours on the day of the shoot - depending on the package. We shoot at 2-3 locations, changing outfits, poses and scenes. You don't need any modelling experience - I'll guide you, give you confidence, but also leave plenty of room for naturalness. With my second shooter Hanna, I can realise even more variety and perspectives for larger productions.

Post-processing & teamwork for the perfect look

After the shoot, you choose your favourites - and my team takes care of the professional post-processing. My image editor ensures a consistent look, subtle retouching and optimises the images for different platforms: square for Instagram, portrait format for reels, landscape format for banners - everything is ready to use.

The best locations: Frankfurt & Mallorca

Frankfurt - Urban business, modern architecture

For many, Frankfurt is just a city of banks - but as a photographer in Frankfurt, I know that the city has much more to offer. From the skyline to urban corners in Sachsenhausen, stylish cafés to green oases on the Main - Frankfurt is business, design, clarity and diversity all in one.

Ideal for anyone who wants a modern, professional look that looks urban - but not unapproachable.

Mallorca - Mediterranean lifestyle & creative diversity

Mallorca is the perfect stage for anyone who likes it lighter, sunnier and more relaxed. Whether it's the old town streets of Palma, sandy beaches, mountain villages or stylish fincas - Mallorca brings warmth, naturalness and creative freedom to your images. Ideal for coaches, creative entrepreneurs or brands that want to radiate closeness and lightness.

Why many customers use both locations

Many of my clients opt for a combination shoot: business photos in Frankfurt - and lifestyle content on Mallorca. This creates a year-round content mix that you can use flexibly - e.g. for your website, online course, Instagram, ads, LinkedIn & co.

Tips for preparing for your social media shoot

A little preparation makes all the difference - here are my most important tips from 11 years of shooting experience:

Colour choice & outfit tips for brand impact

Your outfits should:

  • match the colour scheme of your branding

  • depict different moods (e.g. business, casual, creative)

  • not too tight or too wide

  • do without eye-catching patterns or large logos

Plan 2-4 looks, e.g:

  1. Blazer + jeans (business casual)

  2. Dress or statement piece (Instagram-worthy)

  3. Basic outfit (for neutral looks)

  4. Outdoor style (e.g. with coat, scarf etc.)

Use props cleverly - laptop, mobile phone, coffee etc.

You don't need a huge fund - but some things help to create storytelling:

  • Laptop, smartphone, notebook

  • Coffee mug, books, glasses

  • Product samples or tools you work with

They not only liven up the pictures, but also bring you closer to your everyday life - and that looks particularly real.

Mindset: Stay relaxed & show personality

You don't have to be a model - on the contrary. The best pictures are created when you are yourself. Take a deep breath, don't think too much about posture or appearance - I'll guide you through the process. The more relaxed you are, the more authentic and approachable the pictures will look.
