Photographer Mallorca Tips: My experience
I've been working as a professional photographer for over 11 years - and I've been based in Mallorca for almost three years. But I've known the island for over ten years and it's still my absolute dream island. I know exactly which locations have the best light at what time of year and at what time of day, where it's best to park and which places are perfect for business, lifestyle or couple shoots.
In this article, I have collected my most important photographer Mallorca tips to make your shoot perfect. I know from experience that if the preparation is right, the shoot will not only be stress-free, but also a really great experience.
Why a photo shoot on Mallorca is so special
Mallorca is much more than just sun and sand. The island offers a huge variety of locations that are perfect for photo shoots:
Beaches with white sand and turquoise blue water
Cliffs with sea views
Charming old town streets in Palma or picturesque mountain villages
Mediterranean fincas, olive groves and almond blossom fields
This variety makes it possible to photograph completely different looks in a single day - and that's exactly what makes a Mallorca shoot so exciting.
Tip 1: Coordinate outfits and locations in advance
My most important tip for a successful shoot: plan outfits and locations in good time.
We discuss your wishes in advance and I create mood boards so that colours, style and locations match perfectly. In the end, everything will look harmonious and you won't have to think about what to wear on the day of the shoot.
Tip 2: Plan your styling & make-up
Professional styling makes a big difference. That's why I recommend booking a stylist or make-up artist. I have been working for years with a solid network of professionals that I know and appreciate personally.
Advantages:
You don't have to do your own hair & make-up
Everything is coordinated with the outfits and the look
You simply feel good on the day of the shoot and can relax
Tip 3: Pay attention to the small details
From 11 years of experience, I can say that small details make a big difference.
Ironed clothes without creases
Clean shoes and well-groomed nails
Discreet accessories that match the outfit
This may sound trivial, but it makes a huge difference in the pictures.
Tip 4: Choose the right time
The light on Mallorca is fantastic - but not at every time of day.
Sunrise: Soft, golden light, empty locations, particularly beautiful for romantic shots or business photos in peace and quiet.
Sunset: Warm, atmospheric images with a Mediterranean flair - ideal for lifestyle shoots.
I plan your shoot so that we capture exactly those special moments of light.
Tip 5: Plan an alternative date
Even though Mallorca is known for its sunshine, rain does happen.
That's why I always plan an alternative date so that you can be sure that your shoot will take place in the best conditions.
Tip 6: Relaxed procedure on the day of the shoot
A Mallorca photo shoot shouldn't be stressful, it should be fun.
That's why I'll pick you up by car and drive you to the locations. You don't have to worry about anything - no satnav, no searching for a parking space.
There's a relaxed atmosphere on set: I guide you, give you posing tips, but also leave plenty of room for naturalness.
Outfit changes are no problem, we take the time you need.
Tip 7: Additional service - Videos & Behind-the-Scenes
In addition to photos, more and more customers want short videos that they can use on social media.
That's why you can book a videographer with us to shoot making-of clips and reels. Perfect for Instagram, TikTok or your website.
For larger projects, I'm also supported by my second shooter Hannah or our videographer Erik, so that you get even more perspectives and image variety.
