Before and after image editing in Adobe Lightroom
When it comes to image editing, Adobe Lightroom is one of the most powerful tools available to us photographers. But what exactly do we use Lightroom for and why is it an indispensable part of my daily workflow?
It's simple: I use Lightroom to give my pictures my own personal colour style straight after the shoot! But that's not all, of course:
Let's take a look at the main functions and understand why it is much more than just a tool for adding colours.

Exposure, contrast and white balance: These basic tools can be used to adjust the brightness, tone and colour balance of photos.
Sharpening and noise reduction: These functions help to improve clarity and reduce unwanted image noise.

Hue, saturation and luminance: Here, every colour in the image can be individually adjusted to achieve the desired mood and a particular colour style. For example, I deliberately take my pictures in raw format (without colour presetting by the camera itself) in order to have maximum options when editing later.
Colour profiles and presets - also known as filters: They make work easier by providing a starting point, which of course needs to be further customised depending on the image.

Brushes and graduated filters: These tools can be used to make targeted changes to specific areas of the image without directly affecting the entire image. This function is also ideal for skin retouching.

Straighten and correct perspectives: These tools are particularly useful for architectural photography and other scenes where precise lines are important.
Why I use Lightroom for before and after editing every day:
Using Adobe Lightroom is a must not only because of its comprehensive functions, but also because of the flexibility and precision it offers. Every photo we take is taken under different conditions - be it light, colour or environment. Therefore, it is not enough to simply apply a filter to the image. Each shot requires an individual adjustment of the colour settings and cuts to achieve the best results.
