My top 5 boutique hotels in Palma de Mallorca
10 May 2025

Hotel recommendation Palma de Mallorca - My top 5 boutique hotels

For many, Palma is a holiday destination - for us as photographers on Mallorca, it is a temporary home. We live and work here for large parts of the year. And precisely because we know the city well, we are always discovering new favourite places - including among the hotels.

Part of my job is to know very good and exclusive locations. Places that are not only photogenic, but also have atmosphere. For shoots, for recommendations to my clients, for content - and sometimes simply for my private life. I love good hotels that combine exactly that: Design, tranquillity, quality and exclusivity. And because this is not only a professional but also a private issue for me, a planned day off quickly turns into personal location scouting.

We regularly treat ourselves to an overnight stay in one of these special hotels in the centre of Palma - because it's worth it. The city changes depending on your perspective, and waking up in a beautiful hotel and being able to walk straight into Palma's old town is an experience in itself.

And: many boutique hotels in Palma are also a great option in winter. It's often quieter and the prices are a little cheaper - but it's worth checking opening times and availability, as not all hotels are open all year round.

Here are my top 5 hotel recommendations in Palma de Mallorca - all right in the city, all stylish, and all from my own experience.

Hotel recommendation Palma de Mallorca

1st Hotel Sant Francesc - My personal favourite

If I had to name one hotel in Palma that I would book again in a heartbeat, it would be the Hotel Sant Francesc.

The former city palace was remodelled with great sensitivity: stylish, quiet, elegant - but without distance. The mixture of historical elements and modern design is a real success. You can feel that attention has been paid to every detail.

The rooms are spacious, bright, with well thought-out interiors - wood, natural colours, good materials. Bathrooms with natural light, high-quality textiles, clear lines.

My highlight: the roof terrace with a view of the basilica of the same name. Whether for coffee in the morning or an aperitif in the evening - everything feels special here. It's a dream for photography, by the way, especially with the light in the early evening.

The „Quadrat“ restaurant in the inner courtyard is a recommendation in itself - discreetly staged, with modern Mediterranean cuisine and good service.

2. Es Llorenç - Stylish, modern, with a sea view

Es Llorenç Parc de la Mar is located in the historic La Calatrava neighbourhood - in one of those narrow streets that you almost overlook if you don't know the area. But behind it lies one of the city's most sophisticated design hotels.

The furnishings? Contemporary, clear, luxurious. Everything here is harmonious - from the reception to the bathroom. The rooms have a calm, high-quality feel without being sterile. Materials such as wood, stone and fabrics in muted colours create a warm atmosphere.

The roof terrace with infinity pool and view of the bay is spectacular. No exaggerated „wow“, but a natural luxury. Plus a spa area that's also worth a visit in winter - with hammam, treatments and tranquillity.

The restaurant „DINS“ under the management of Santi Taura is one of the best addresses in Palma - creative, authentic and high quality.

3rd Concepció by Nobis - Scandinavian design meets Mallorcan flair

This hotel is perfect for design lovers: the Concepció by Nobis is located on the edge of Santa Catalina, in the centre but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Here, Nordic minimalism meets Mallorcan materials - lots of light, light wood, linen, stone and clear colours. Everything is calm, well thought-out and inviting.

The inner courtyard is a small retreat - pool, lounge furniture, a quiet spot in the middle of the city.

The hotel's cuisine is also impressive: the restaurant serves modern dishes with a regional flavour, perfectly coordinated with the style of the hotel.

I have both photographed and stayed there privately - both with the same conclusion: stylish, pleasant and a real haven of peace.

4th Nobis Hotel Palma - elegance in the old town

A newcomer among the boutique hotels in Palma - but one with great potential: the Nobis Hotel Palma, right in the historic centre.

The former city palace has been extensively renovated and rethought. The result is a place that breathes history, but is modern and accessible at the same time.

The rooms are spacious, with clear lines and many lovely details. The public areas - lobby, library, inner courtyard - invite you to linger.

Plus an elegant spa area, a good restaurant and, above all, this central location. From here you can explore Palma perfectly on foot - from the market to the cathedral.

5th Can Bordoy - Individual & different

If you are looking for something really special, you will find it at Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden. This hotel is everything - except ordinary.

Hidden away in La Lonja, this former private house lies behind an inconspicuous façade. Inside: velvety curtains, antique furniture, free-standing bathtubs, hidden corridors. A hotel with a lot of character that cannot be pigeonholed.

The garden in the inner courtyard is an oasis - with a pool, mature trees and plenty of peace and quiet. The „Botànic“ restaurant offers creative, plant-based cuisine of a very high standard.

I've already been there for shoots and for dinner - both were wonderful. Anyone who loves individuality will feel at home here.

Hotel recommendation Palma de Mallorca - boutique hotels that do more than just look good

These five hotels have one thing in common: they are not only stylish, but also offer real experiences. Whether for a special occasion, a conscious time-out or simply to test how beautiful Palma can be overnight - each of these addresses is a recommendation that I stand behind.

And: a stay in these hotels is particularly worthwhile outside the high season. It is quieter, more personal - and often a little more relaxed in terms of price.

More tips to follow

In the coming weeks, we will be publishing more hotel recommendations for Palma de Mallorca here - from boutique hotels in Sóller to hideaways on the east coast.

If you fancy getting to know Mallorca off the beaten track, you'll find plenty more ideas here in the future.

And if you are thinking about combining your stay on the island with a shoot - be it for personal pictures, branding content or an editorial - we will be happy to advise you on suitable locations and time slots.

It is worth booking early, as we are already planning for late summer and autumn.

From selfie to professional portrait: why it's worth investing in a photographer

From selfie to professional portrait: why it's worth investing in a photographer

Whether it's LinkedIn, a website, a press release or a job application - the first picture is crucial for likeability, trust and professionalism. Despite this, many people still reach for their smartphone and snap a quick selfie. But a selfie is not a business portrait. If you take your career, your company or your personal brand seriously, you can't do without a professional portrait.

In this article, we show you why a portrait photographer in Frankfurt is the better choice, when a shoot is worthwhile and how professional portrait photos can positively change your public image.

Selfie vs. business photo: the subtle difference

At first glance, a selfie may seem sufficient - after all, you can recognise your face, it's quick to take, free and convenient. But in a professional context in particular, more than „good enough“ counts. It's about impact, quality and trust. The difference between a selfie and a professional photo is often crucial - especially when it comes to topics such as career, self-employment and, above all, visibility as a brand.

Why a selfie is not enough:

  • Unfavourable perspective

  • Poor lighting conditions

  • Distracting backgrounds

  • No well thought-out image composition

  • Lack of depth and charisma

A photographer in Frankfurt who specialises in portrait photography knows exactly how to present clients in the right light, choose the right background and capture their personality authentically but professionally.

What professional portrait photos radiate

A professional portrait shows that you are prepared to invest in your public image. This not only gives you a higher quality appearance, but also makes you more tangible, likeable and competent. In times when first impressions are often made digitally, this is precisely what is crucial.

Good portraits convey:

  • Expertise

  • Trust

  • Proximity

  • Strength

  • Clarity

A high-quality business photo signals: „I take myself and my business seriously.“ This is the first step towards getting others to do the same.

Investment in a photographer - worthwhile or a luxury?

Many people shy away from the cost of a professional shoot. However, compared to the opportunities that arise from making a better impression, it is an investment with a high return. Especially for the self-employed, start-ups, coaches and young professionals, a professional photo is often the door opener for orders, new contacts or job offers.

When a professional portrait is worthwhile:

  • When starting a career or changing jobs

  • Starting your own business

  • For the relaunch of a website

  • Before media appearances, interviews or lectures

  • When building a personal brand on LinkedIn, Instagram or Xing

A photographer in Frankfurt who is familiar with portrait photography will help you find the right visual language for your target - objective, approachable and self-confident.

Portrait photography in Frankfurt - in the centre of business life

Frankfurt is not only the financial centre of Germany, but also a hotspot for personal branding, start-ups and professionals who want to be visible online. Those who live or work here benefit from the variety of locations - whether skyline, old Wilhelminian-style buildings, modern co-working spaces or urban backgrounds.

An experienced portrait photographer in Frankfurt knows the best places and knows which location suits which branding. You also benefit from studios, flexible travelling and a large selection of styles - from the classic business look to the creative entrepreneurial aesthetic.

Professional photos on Mallorca - business with Mediterranean flair

A business photo shoot on Mallorca offers the perfect mix for anyone who likes things a little more relaxed but still stylish. The island impresses with great light, versatile locations and a relaxed atmosphere, which has a positive effect on the look of the pictures.

As an experienced photographer on Mallorca, I know the most beautiful locations for minimalist, clear business photos - from bright fincas and rooftops to modern villas. Many clients combine the photo shoot with a short trip or business retreat - an investment in their own visibility, combined with a feel-good factor.

What makes a good portrait?

A professional portrait is far more than just a well-exposed face. It is a statement. It shows who you are, what you stand for and what energy you bring to the table.

An experienced photographer pays attention to:

  • Facial expressions: authentic, likeable, confident

  • Posture & body language: open, self-confident charisma

  • Lighting: Natural or staged, depending on the effect

  • Colour scheme & style: Matching the industry and positioning

  • Location & background: Clear, calm and professional

First impressions count - even digitally

In a world where visibility is everything, professional portrait photos are no longer a luxury - but a strategic decision. Whether on the path to self-employment, a new job or as a personal brand: the right impression starts with a strong image.

An experienced photographer Frankfurt or photographer Mallorca can make exactly this difference. Invest in yourself - and your impact.

Afternoon Tea Castillo Hotel - My absolute recommendation on Mallorca

Afternoon Tea Castillo Hotel - A stylish break above the rooftops of Palma

Discover exclusive places - both professionally and privately

Travelling and testing selected hotels is much more than just a leisure activity for me. It is part of my professional work as a photographer and content creator - and at the same time a personal passion. Finding places where style, quality and tranquillity come together has become an integral part of my work over the years.

I am regularly on the lookout for special locations for shoots. I come across hotels that are not only photogenic, but also unique retreats. One of these places is the Castillo Hotel Son Vida, a real luxury hotel on Mallorca.

A highlight that I can recommend without reservation - both professionally and privately - is the afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel, high above the hills of Palma. For anyone looking for a stylish, peaceful and high-quality experience in Mallorca, this place is a clear recommendation.

Afternoon Tea Castillo Hotel Son Vida

An experience for the senses: Afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida

Last year, we tried the afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida. And it was not only a culinary highlight of our stay, but also an atmospheric one. The combination of understated luxury, professional service and one of the best views of Palma makes this experience extra special.

Procedure and atmosphere

Booking is straightforward but recommended - especially in the quieter months when the terrace is particularly relaxed. Afternoon tea is usually offered from the early afternoon until the early evening.

After being welcomed by the service staff, you are shown to a seat on the terrace - or, in cooler weather, to the elegant interior rooms with a view of the bay. The atmosphere is quiet, reserved and yet warm. Guests from all over the world, most of them relaxed, well-groomed and consciously there to savour the moment.

The hotel: Castillo Hotel Son Vida - an icon of the Mallorcan luxury hotel industry

The Castillo Hotel Son Vida is one of the most prestigious hotels on the island. As part of the Marriott Luxury Collection, it is one of the leading luxury hotels on Mallorca.

History & style

The building was originally a private manor house from the 13th century - it was later converted into an exclusive resort. The history of the property is palpable without appearing old-fashioned.

The style of the hotel combines classic elements - solid doors, high-quality fabrics, muted colours - with modern comfort. Works of art, subtle decorations and carefully selected pieces of furniture create an ambience that is neither cool nor overbearing.

The hotel rooms, lounges and spa area are decorated in warm colours. Everything is well thought out, high-quality and understated - ideal for guests who appreciate discretion and style.

The roof terrace: tea on the terrace with a view of Palma

A truly unique feature is the large terrace with a direct view over Palma - from the city panorama to the cathedral and down to the bay. This place is synonymous with tranquillity, space and far-reaching views - both literally and figuratively.

Photographic perspective

For me as a photographer, the terrace is not just a place to relax, but also a stage for light, line and atmosphere. Especially in the late afternoon hours, the soft light bathes the surrounding hills, the city and the sea in a colourfulness that is unobtrusive but impressive.

Whether for private memories or professional shoots - the view from the terrace is unforgettable. Anyone who associates Mallorca with quality and clarity will find what they are looking for here.

Cuisine & details: What makes afternoon tea special

Tea selection & presentation

Afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida is carefully put together. The tea selection includes high-quality varieties - classic, flavoured, strong or floral. The tea is presented on multi-tiered trays, accompanied by fine china and discreet glasses.

Delicacies at the highest level

The dishes are finely balanced: fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, small sandwiches with cucumber, salmon or egg, sweet tartelettes, madeleines or mousse creations. Everything is homemade, freshly prepared and perfectly balanced.

Vegetarian or vegan alternatives are also available on request - without compromising on flavour or presentation.

Location & accessibility of the hotel

The Castillo Hotel is located in Son Vida, one of Mallorca's most exclusive residential areas, just a few minutes above Palma. It is around 20 minutes from the airport and around ten minutes from the city centre.

Approach & surroundings

It's easy to get here - well-maintained roads lead directly to the hotel. Those arriving by hire car or taxi will be welcomed directly in front of the main entrance.

The location is perfect for combining with other excursions: a walk through the old town in the morning, a relaxing afternoon tea with a view in the afternoon, a visit to the spa or dinner afterwards - anything is possible.

Why afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel is really worth it

This experience is more than just a culinary delight - it is an invitation to slow down. Afternoon tea at the Castillo Hotel offers exactly what discerning guests are looking for: Peace, quality, restraint and the highest level of hospitality.

This place is particularly suitable for:

  • Couples looking for a stylish getaway

  • Groups of friends who want to enjoy together

  • Business travellers who need a discreet setting for meetings

  • Families with high standards of ambience and service

Those who love Mallorca but don't want to sit in the hustle and bustle of the promenade will find a clear alternative here. A stylish recommendation for aesthetes, gourmets and people with an eye for detail.

Photography tip: This backdrop is more than just beautiful - it's photogenic

For all those who photograph professionally or privately on Mallorca: The Castillo Hotel Son Vida is ideal for photo shoots. The combination of historical architecture, modern details, exclusive furnishings and mood lighting makes this location unique.

As a content creator, I regularly work in locations like this. And yes - we also offer shoots in Son Vida. Anyone interested in a professional photo or video project in this environment is welcome to contact me.

Advertising photography on Mallorca: Clear brand image for hotels and tourism

Professional photography as a decision-making aid

In the tourism industry, hardly any decisions are made without visual impressions. Whether hotel, flat or travel experience - the images that customers see first characterise the entire brand image.
The requirements are correspondingly high: Photos should create trust, motivate people to book and contribute to brand loyalty in the long term.

Many hotel websites and booking platforms still work with interchangeable images. A single photo often decides whether an enquiry or booking is made. Good advertising photography is not a „nice to have“, but the basis for effective marketing.

Why Mallorca is particularly suitable as a production location

Mallorca is geographically compact, logistically easy to reach and offers an impressive variety of motifs within a short distance. Sea, mountains, old towns, design architecture, panoramic views, nature and Mediterranean living spaces - everything is within easy reach. Added to this is the high quality of light over many months.

This means for photo productions:

  • Predictable weather conditions for large parts of the year

  • Ideal lighting conditions - warm, diffuse sunlight

  • Short distances between shooting locations

  • Good availability for customer appointments or on-site inspections

  • Local partners with production expertise

These factors make Mallorca one of the most sought-after locations for content production in the tourism sector.

Advertising photography on Mallorca

What requirements good tourism photography must fulfil

Not every beautiful picture works in marketing. Good advertising photography must fulfil a clear benefit: It supports the positioning, conveys the right feeling and offers added value - beyond pure aesthetics.

Central requirements are:

  • Recognisability: The imagery must match the brand.

  • Authenticity: No over-staged poses, but real scenes with real charisma.

  • Flexibility: Content that is suitable for many channels and formats.

  • Stringency: Uniform look across all media.

  • Target group focus: Images that pick people up - emotionally, but unagitated.

If you run a family-friendly resort, you need different scenarios than an adults-only boutique hotel. And the visual language must also clearly match the brand and offer - otherwise the overall image will appear incongruous.

Authenticity takes centre stage

A calm, honest visual language is particularly important in photography for hotels and tourism brands. Guests don't want to see staged advertising worlds, but insights into a real experience.

In concrete terms, this means

  • Natural light

  • Unprocessed facial expressions

  • Real situations (e.g. breakfast on the terrace, a relaxed evening on the balcony, children by the pool)

  • Visible details that create atmosphere: materials, architecture, colour scheme

The calmer and clearer the visual language, the more credible the hotel or product appears. Emotion is not created through grand gestures, but through subtle observation.

One shoot - many possible uses

If a photo production is well prepared, one day of shooting will result in a comprehensive set of images for various applications:

  • Header images for the website

  • Impressions for the homepage and subpages

  • Detail shots for rooms, spa, catering

  • Formats for social media

  • Images for press and newsletter

  • High-resolution photos for print catalogues and trade fair appearances

  • Video clips, reels and drone footage (on request)

This allows content to be generated from a single production that can be played out in a targeted manner over a period of months - with consistently high quality.

Advertising photography on Mallorca

Project example: Photo production for a beach hotel

A hotel on the south-east coast of Mallorca was planning a visual rebranding. The aim was to present a uniform image on the website and in social media channels. The previous images were technically okay, but not very expressive. They hardly conveyed any atmosphere and did not match the reorientation of the hotel.

Procedure:

  1. Briefing & concept: Which values should be communicated visually? Which target groups should be addressed?

  2. Location scouting: On-site analysis of the best times of day for light, suitable perspectives, quiet spots.

  3. Shooting: Early morning and late afternoon (best lighting conditions). Scenes on the terrace, in the restaurant, in the rooms, on the beach, etc.

  4. Post-processing: selection, image optimisation, formatting for web + print.

Result:
A harmonious pool of around 200 photos. The conversion rate on the website rose measurably, social media interactions increased and the recognition value improved significantly.

Planning & procedure - what to consider

Structured planning is essential for a shoot to run efficiently and purposefully. This includes not only a detailed concept, but also realistic scheduling, clear communication and experience in dealing with light, people and surroundings.

Typical procedure:

  • Initial consultation

  • Creation of a mood board

  • Planning the times of day & lighting conditions

  • Organisation of models or real guests

  • Preliminary clarification of authorisations and rights

  • Realisation of the shoot

  • Selection & editing of images

  • Data delivery in suitable formats

The clearer the preparation, the more focussed and efficient the work can be on site.

Why professional implementation is crucial

Anyone who works with visual communication automatically sends messages - whether intentionally or not. Blurred images, poor composition or artificial scenes have a direct impact on the perception of a hotel or brand.

In addition to technical quality, professional photography also requires visual flair. Perspectives, light, distance, colours, depth - all of these must be used consciously. Good images guide the eye. They explain without words. They create order and orientation.

Advertising photography on Mallorca

For whom is commercial photography on Mallorca particularly relevant?

  • Hotels and resorts: from boutique hotels to holiday resorts - a clear presence increases direct bookings

  • Tourism organisations: emotional images for destination marketing

  • Tour operators: visual storytelling for catalogues, social media and trade fair communication

  • Lifestyle and interior brands: product scenarios in a Mediterranean environment

  • Agencies: reliable content production for brands with a connection to Mallorca

Good advertising photography on Mallorca is not a product of chance. It is the result of clarity, planning and experience. The island offers the perfect basis - the right light, the right backdrops, the Mediterranean lifestyle. But it's the professional realisation that turns it into an image style that works.

If you want to position yourself clearly, you need clear images. And those who have their photos taken on Mallorca benefit from flexibility, short distances and an environment that makes content with substance possible - not just for today, but for long-term brand communication.

Business portraits on Mallorca - My top 5 photo spots

Business portraits are more important than ever these days. They are your digital business card - on LinkedIn, your website, in the press or on social media. Mallorca offers the perfect conditions for this: fantastic light, great backdrops and, of course, a relaxed atmosphere.

As a photographer on Mallorca with over 11 years of experience in the field of business and personal brand photography, I know what's important: photos that show you authentically - professionally, but not posed. Clear, but with personality.

Business Portraits in Mallorca

Why business portraits on Mallorca?

Mallorca combines everything we need for successful business portraits:

  • Soft, flattering light - especially in the morning and evening

  • Diverse locations - urban, natural, modern or Mediterranean

  • A relaxed atmosphere, which definitely comes across in the pictures

Many of my clients combine the photo shoot with a stay on the island - and experience that professional portraits don't have to be strenuous.

On the contrary: With the right planning, something is created that works and lasts.

Neutral backgrounds or Mallorca flair?

Before we get started, we will discuss together what you would like to show with your pictures.
➤ Should one recognise that your business portraits were taken on Mallorca?
➤ Or do you want neutral, location-independent backgrounds that you can use universally?

Both are possible. And both have their purpose. That's why in this blog post I present 5 clean locations and 5 places with real Mallorca flair.

Clean and timeless - 5 locations for neutral business portraits

If you want to utilise the island's great light for your photos and still keep your images clean, the following locations are a good choice. These locations are versatile, clear in their lines and neutral in their look - ideal for portraits that are used on LinkedIn, in job applications or on professional websites.

1st Es Baluard Museum (Palma)

The light-coloured concrete walls and modern architecture of the museum provide a calm, stylish backdrop. Especially in the early evening hours, the soft side light here gently models the face - perfect for elegant, clear portraits.

2nd Parc de la Mar (Palma)

Located directly below the cathedral, this area offers many light-flooded zones with light-coloured stone floors and geometric shapes. If you are looking for modern, airy images with plenty of space, this is the place for you. And the best thing is that the space is spacious enough for you to work undisturbed.

3. modern office building in Palma

Away from the touristy old town, Palma also offers a modern business area, especially around Carrer Aragón or in the Son Castelló business park. Here there are many sleek facades with glass, steel and neutral plaster. Ideal for clients looking for an international business look - without any island flair, but with the unmistakable light of Mallorca.

4. rooftop terraces above the rooftops of Palma

Many hotels and flat blocks offer rooftops with light-coloured floors, neutral walls or glass balustrades. These not only offer far-reaching views, but also ideal lighting conditions. The backdrop remains discreet, while you as a person are the centre of attention.

5. inner courtyards of modern architecture (e.g. Palma Congress Centre)

The area around the Palau de Congressos offers modern, open spaces with plenty of natural light, clear lines and elegant structures. You can work here undisturbed, especially in the early morning, and at the same time get the urban Mallorca vibe - neutral but high-quality.

Mallorca flair wanted? 5 photo spots with Mediterranean character

If you want to consciously integrate the magic of the island into your business portraits, Mallorca offers countless opportunities. I have selected five favourite spots here that are particularly well suited to combining professionalism with nature and authenticity.

1st photo shoot at Playa de Palma

Playa de Palma is not only famous for tourism, but also offers a great backdrop, especially early in the morning or just before sunset. A photo shoot at Playa de Palma conveys naturalness, freshness and openness - perfect for personal brands, coaches or creative professionals.

2. old town of Palma (Casco Antiguo)

The historic city centre gives every picture a certain depth and character. Whether green shutters, colourful doors or winding alleyways - an authentic, Mediterranean look is automatically created here. This location is particularly suitable for personal branding portraits.

3. Valldemossa

Valldemossa is a true picture-book village - situated in the mountains, quiet, charming and full of photogenic corners. The combination of stone walls, plants and small alleyways offers many creative possibilities. Ideal for calm, inspiring portraits with a natural aura.

4th Cap de Formentor

A place for strong personalities: the dramatic rock formations and the vast sea create images with power, depth and symbolism. Anyone who wants to present themselves as a visionary, for example, will find the perfect stage here - a real highlight, especially at sunset.

5th Cala Figuera

Small boats, crystal-clear water, old stone walls and a tranquillity all of its own - Cala Figuera is perfect for portraits. The location is not only photogenic, but also pleasantly quiet, which makes the shoot particularly relaxed.

Photographer Mallorca

My passion: location scouting on Mallorca

One of the things that makes my work special is my eye for places - even off the beaten track.
Even in my free time, I'm often out and about: I love discovering new lighting moods, architectural details and unfamiliar perspectives.

During your photo shoot on Mallorca, you will not only benefit from over 11 years of experience as a photographer and videographer, but also from my flair for timing, light and atmosphere.

Business portraits on Mallorca - Which style suits you?

Whether neutral and clean or with a clearly recognisable island flair - Mallorca offers both. And the best thing is that you can often combine both in one shoot. For example, we start at a clean spot in Palma and then head to the sea or a charming village.

The most important basis for successful business portraits, apart from the light, is one thing above all: a clear focus. What do you want to say with your pictures? Which target group do you want to reach? Together we will develop a concept that suits you and your business.

Authenticity before perfection: why real moments count in photography

Authenticity before perfection: why real moments count in photography

In a world characterised by staged images, filters and glossy aesthetics, one thing is becoming increasingly valuable: authenticity. Because people long for authenticity - for images that touch rather than just impress. This is exactly what authentic photography does. It shows you, your team or your brand exactly as you really are. Genuine. Unbiased. Personal.

As a photographer with over 10 years of experience, I see it time and time again: the most powerful images are not created in the perfect moment, but in the real thing. Not when everything is controlled, but when someone is simply „themselves“. And that's exactly what this article is about.

What does authentic photography really mean?

Authentic photography doesn't mean that everything has to be spontaneous and unplanned. It means that you are shown as you are - not as you think you should appear. Instead of rigid poses and artificial staging, it's about making your personality visible.

Whether you want to communicate your values to the outside world as an entrepreneur or show genuine closeness as a coach - natural business photos always have a stronger impact than staged images. Because they don't tell a story - they are the story.

Why real photos create more trust

Trust is the basis of every connection - whether in a private, professional or business context. And nothing builds trust faster than a real picture.

Genuine emotions, natural body language, candid moments - your counterpart can sense all of this immediately. On social media, on your website, in your portfolio or on LinkedIn.

Authentic photography shows: You are not hiding. You show yourself. And that's exactly what creates closeness.

3. preparation = safety

The better prepared you are, the more confident you will feel. Here are a few tips:

  • Choose an outfit that makes you feel strong. It doesn't have to be the most expensive - but it should reflect you.

  • Write down questions. What do you want to show? What is important to you? What images do you need?

  • Sleep & water. Sounds banal, but it's worth its weight in gold. Well rested, hydrated and in a good mood, you are automatically more relaxed.

We'll go through these things together in the preliminary talk. You'll get tips on clothing, colours and accessories - and we'll develop a small mood board to help you get your bearings.

Why companies should rely on authentic brand photography

Genuine imagery is becoming increasingly important in brand communication. Whether for social media, websites, employer branding or the press - authentic business photos show your company as it is: tangible, human and likeable.

Customers no longer want to see agency stock photos. They want the real team. The real work processes. The real attitude behind the brand. This is exactly what candid photos that show personality without appearing unprofessional achieve.

Real images for social media - approachable instead of perfect

In social media, seconds decide attention. Glossy images often slip through the algorithm - because they seem interchangeable. What remains are real images that trigger something.

An honest smile. A moment in conversation. A small gesture. All of these things make us stop because they are human. Authentic photography brings precisely these moments to your channels - and ensures reach with impact.

Authentic photos for freelancers & personal brands

Are you a coach, consultant, creative or entrepreneur? Then your personality is your strongest asset. And that's exactly what needs to be visible - in images that suit you.

A shoot with me doesn't mean „learning to pose“ - it means being yourself. We work with movement, conversations and small moments. This creates pictures that show who you are - not who you should be.

Authentic personal branding photos are not a trend - they are the core of modern brand management.

Why authentic photos work better - for you too

  • You appear more approachable - this increases the level of contact

  • You strengthen your trust - especially with sensitive services

  • You stand out - because most people still rely on standardised, smooth photos

  • You feel more comfortable - because you recognise yourself in the pictures

Whether it's job application photos, team photos or an entire branding shoot - authentic photography not only changes your image to the outside world, but also the way you feel about yourself.

Branding photography for personal brands on Mallorca

Real moments - on Mallorca and in Frankfurt

Whether in an old flat in Frankfurt or in a beautiful finca on Mallorca - I will accompany you wherever you want to be.

In Frankfurt, I often work with entrepreneurs, teams, start-ups or self-employed people who want to modernise their online presence. Here we use urban backdrops, stylish studios or even your own office.

The vibe is different on Mallorca: calmer, more relaxed, softer. Many customers deliberately travel here to take new pictures - and to get back in touch with themselves at the same time. A photo shoot here is usually a really great experience.

This is how an authentic shoot works for me

  1. Preliminary discussion: We talk about you, your goals and what is important to you.

  2. Preparation: You will receive tips on clothing, styling, locations and mindset.

  3. Shooting: relaxed, personal, guided. You don't get rigid poses - but guidance with feeling.

  4. Selection & editing: You get pictures that show you. Natural, clear, modern - but never over-edited.

You don't need to be a model. Just ready to show yourself.

Who is authentic photography ideal for?

  • Self-employed, coaches, speakers, entrepreneurs

  • Teams & companies that want to provide real insight

  • Influencers & content creators who want to show proximity instead of perfection

  • Founders who take off with personality

  • Applicants & career starters who want to convince with character

Conclusion: You don't need perfect pictures - you need real ones

If you show yourself as you are, you will reach people who are looking for exactly that. Authentic photography does not mean „unprofessional“, but: personal, modern and credible.

Do you want to show yourself as you really are?
Then let's create images together that work - not because they are perfect. But because they show you.

Self-confidence in front of the camera: 7 simple tips for authentic photos

Do you recognise this? You see great business portraits or social media photos of others and think: „I want to look that relaxed and natural in front of the camera!“ Then you stand in front of the lens yourself - and suddenly everything is tense. Your hands don't know where to go, your smile looks forced and you feel anything but photogenic.

Believe me: you are not alone in this. As a photographer with over 10 years of experience, I have accompanied countless people who were nervous, unsure or even panicked at the start of a shoot. And that's totally okay! But - and this is the good news - self-confidence in front of the camera can be learnt. It just takes a bit of knowledge, preparation and the right mindset.

Here I'll show you 7 simple but effective tips on how to feel comfortable, look authentic and even have fun at your next photo shoot. And who knows - maybe you'll even look forward to every photo shoot afterwards.

Self-confidence in front of the camera
Corporate photography in Frankfurt am Main

1. realise that you don't have to be a model

One of the biggest misconceptions: „I'm not photogenic.“ That's rubbish. Photogenicity is not an innate quality, but rather a question of the situation, of how you feel - and above all of the photographer. Many of my clients tell me at the beginning: „I hate being photographed.“ And it is precisely these people who leave the shoot with a grin on their face - and photos they are proud of.

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be yourself. Authentic photos are always more effective than posed glossy pictures.

2. choose a photographer you feel comfortable with

A good shoot starts with trust. You should feel that you are in good hands with your photographer. The chemistry has to be right, because: You are giving up some control - and that only feels good if you trust the other person.

For example, I accompany my clients in Frankfurt, on Mallorca and throughout Europe - with calm, humour and clear guidance. After a short time, many say: „I completely forgot that you take photos.“ That's exactly how it should be.

If you're looking for a photographer Frankfurt or a photographer Mallorca, don't just look at the portfolio - listen to your gut feeling.

3. preparation = safety

4. use body language consciously

The camera loves people who radiate clarity. And that starts with your posture.

  • Stand up straight, but not stiffly

  • Pull your shoulders back slightly

  • Breathe calmly through your nose

  • Keep your hands loose - or use props

  • Turn slightly to the side

As an experienced photographer, I naturally pay attention to all these things - you get clear instructions without it seeming contrived. Many clients tell me afterwards: „That was like coaching and a photo shoot in one.“ That's exactly the aim.

5. you are allowed to move

Stand still like a statue? Forget it. Natural movement brings life into the picture. You can walk, laugh, turn, lean, even cross your arms - depending on what suits you. I accompany you, give small impulses and observe when you are with yourself.

The best photos are often taken between posed moments - when you're laughing because something went wrong or simply let go after a pose. These moments are worth their weight in gold - and you don't need any acting training for them, just a little courage to let go.

6. tell the camera what you think - internally

This may sound crazy, but you can decide how you look in photos with your posture and inner attitude.

If you think:
„I look daft.“
„Please let it be over quickly.“
„I'm not photogenic.“

... then you can see that in the pictures. Your energy, your thoughts - they go into the camera via your face.

What you should think instead:
„I'm ready.“
„I can be seen.“
„I'm allowed to have fun.“

Trust me: your face will mirror it. And the effect is huge.

7. let go and have fun

A shoot is not just a photo session - it's an experience. And it often changes more than you realise. Many of my customers say after the shoot:

„I haven't seen myself like this for years.“
„That felt really good.“
„I never thought I'd enjoy having my photo taken.“

Because you will perceive yourself differently. Stronger. Clearer. More self-confident.

A shoot is a step in your development. Without any pressure. But with great effect.

Where are the best pictures taken? Frankfurt or Mallorca?

Honestly, it doesn't depend on the place - it depends on you. But of course it helps to be in an environment that feels good.

In Frankfurt, I often work with modern business locations, urban backgrounds or in cosy indoor settings. The city offers many possibilities - from classic business looks to relaxed portraits for social media.

On Mallorca, I photograph with natural light sources, in Mediterranean fincas, on quiet beaches or in stylish boutique hotels. Many people use the trip as a little break - and discover how much a relaxed atmosphere changes their aura.

Wherever you are, you will feel comfortable. That's my job - and my promise.

Self-confidence in front of the camera starts with you

You don't need to be a top model, have perfect skin or Instagram skills. What you need is to make a decision for yourself. You want to show yourself - with clarity, naturalness and strength.

And I'll help you with that.
As a photographer, I accompany you with experience, heart and an eye for the essentials.

Mallorca photography: Authentic images that make your business visible

Mallorca is more than just an island. For me at least, it's more than that - it's a feeling. And it is precisely this feeling that can be visualised through images. If you really want to be seen with your business, you need more than just photos. It needs authenticity. Personality. And a feel for the right moment.

As a photographer in Mallorca, I have deliberately specialised in capturing moments like these - with natural light, authenticity and a clear focus: to show your brand as it really is. Genuine and to the point.

Photography Mallorca
social media content ideas company

Photography Mallorca: Why pictures are so important today

In a world where millions of images flicker across our screens every day, it's authenticity that sticks. If you want your company to be convincing, you need more than smooth surfaces. What counts is personality - visible, perceptible and tangible.

Photography on Mallorca offers ideal conditions and opportunities for this. The island provides light that is soft and honest. Locations that have character. And a tranquillity that allows people to be themselves. In my eyes, this is precisely the basis for authentic business photography.

My story: Mallorca was never a coincidence, but a destination

I knew more than 14 years ago that I would one day work on this island and even live here to some extent. The energy, the light, the attitude to life - everything about it totally inspired me. I knew that I didn't just want to live here, I also wanted to take photographs. So it's no coincidence that my life path took me in the right direction exactly two years ago: Today, I travel between Germany and Mallorca and accompany brands, entrepreneurs, creatives and self-employed people with my camera - always in search of the real moment.

Authenticity - not just style, but attitude

Genuine images are not created through staging, but through trust. I take my time. For your business. For your story. For you. That's why I have deliberately positioned myself in the premium segment. Not to be exclusive - but to be able to give you exactly the attention you deserve.

It's not about mass processing. It's about clarity. It's about quality. And results that really work - on your website, on social media, in campaigns or in brand development.

Natural light - Mallorca Photography

I work almost exclusively with natural light. Because it's honest. And because it shows every face, every product, every location in its very own, uncopyable way. The Mallorcan light in the early morning or in the golden hour is pure magic - and offers the perfect conditions for stylish and high-quality images.

Whether in a boutique hotel, on a rooftop in Palma, in a quiet finca or on one of the many hidden beaches: I choose the setting so that it carries you and your brand.

The art of rebranding: How new photos transform your corporate identity
10 April 2025

Rebranding checklist: How new photos transform corporate identity

A rebranding is not a quick fix. It is a far-reaching process that goes far beyond a new logo. When a brand evolves - whether through growth, new target groups, mergers or a change of image - its appearance must also adapt. And this is where visual communication comes into play. Images are the first thing people perceive - long before they read a word.

In this rebranding checklist, we show you how new, targeted rebranding photography can take your brand identity to a new level, why it is the key to a successful brand strategy - and how you can avoid mistakes.

Rebranding checklist
Rebranding checklist

Why rebranding is more than just a new logo

When your company changes, its image changes too. Rebranding means repositioning your brand - emotionally, visually and strategically. And you can't do this by half measures.

A successful brand reorientation can be seen in:

  • Professional brand photos that convey new values

  • Consistent visual language that creates recognition

  • Emotional depth that builds trust

  • Visual clarity that strengthens your positioning

And this is exactly where we come in with rebranding photography. Because a successful picture says more than 1,000 words - and exactly the right ones.

The rebranding checklist - 7 steps to a strong brand look

1. as-is analysis: Where do you currently stand with your brand?

Before you get started, analyse how your brand is currently perceived:

  • What visual language have you used so far?

  • What emotions do your pictures trigger?

  • Do they correspond to your current offer or your target group?

This initial stocktaking is essential in order to formulate clear change objectives.

2. target definition: What should change?

What do you want to achieve with the rebranding?

  • New target group?

  • Premium positioning?

  • Modernising your appearance?

The clearer you formulate your goals, the more targeted you can develop the visual strategy. Brand relaunch photos are not an end in themselves - they should specifically trigger something.

3. develop a visual brand strategy

Now it's time for creative and strategic planning:

  • Which colours, moods and backgrounds suit your repositioning?

  • What do you want your picture to say about you: strength, lightness, clarity, elegance?

  • Where do you want to shoot - outdoor, office, urban, minimalist?

A professional branding shoot is not a spontaneous shoot. It is part of your brand consultation, with visual language as the key.

4. choose a photographer - expertise makes the difference

For a rebranding, you need experienced corporate photographers. Someone who:

  • Brands understand

  • Strategic thinking

  • Image aesthetics AND effect mastered

  • has experience in brand relaunch photos

We specialise in exactly this type of photography. With over 11 years of experience, we support companies with their photographic brand positioning - in Frankfurt, on Mallorca and throughout Europe.

5. the shoot - planning meets personality

The shooting day is not a stiff photo session, but an experience that makes an impact. We plan:

  • Various outfits to match the brand identity

  • Location(s) that reflect your values

  • Natural or staged light, depending on the effect

  • Posing that doesn't look posed, but self-confident

The result? Images that work - professional, authentic, strategically well thought out.

Rebranding checklist

6. follow-up & integration

After the shoot you will receive your selection as an online gallery - included:

  • High-resolution files

  • Web-optimised variants

  • Consistent image processing in the desired style

Now it's time for integration:

  • Website relaunch with new images

  • Update your social media profile

  • Customise press photos & PR materials

  • Redesign marketing assets such as flyers, presentations or campaigns

This turns rebranding photography into a genuine brand upgrade.

7. success measurement & impact check

After a few weeks, it's worth taking a look back:

  • What is the feedback from your community?

  • Are you contacted more often?

  • Does the new image match your self-image?

Professional images in the brand strategy are not static - they grow with you. A rebranding is the starting point for long-term clarity.

Why Mallorca is perfect for rebranding photos

A location with style, light and atmosphere - business photo shoots in Mallorca are becoming increasingly popular. Why?

Behind the scenes: Insights into the everyday life of a business photographer
7 April 2025

Behind the scenes: A day in the life of a business photographer

What does the everyday life of a business photographer actually look like? Many people think of it as just a photo shoot with a camera and equipment. But there is so much more behind professional business photos: planning, strategy, intuition and real passion. In this article, I take you behind the scenes of my everyday life as a business photographer - with honest insights, real experiences and the little challenges that make this profession so special.

Premium photographer Frankfurt & Mallorca

Early start - planning is half the shoot

My day usually starts with a good coffee and a look at my daily schedule. There is a lot of organisational work before every business photo shoot: checking emails, preparing equipment, reviewing briefings, going through mood boards. Because nothing just happens for me - I work according to a concept.

Especially for a business photo shoot, it is important that the visual language, colours and style match the brand and personality. That's why I coordinate everything with my clients in advance: Objectives, image utilisation, outfit ideas, locations and schedule.

Arrival & set-up

Whether I'm in Frankfurt, Mallorca or somewhere in Europe - I travel a lot. My equipment is always with me: camera, various lenses, reflectors, batteries, memory cards, cleaning cloths - I'm prepared for anything.

When I arrive at the shoot location, I start with a short chat to ease the tension. Then the technical set-up begins: checking the light, checking the location, first test shots. I prefer to use existing light, but I also work with flash or continuous light - depending on what the situation requires.

The shoot - the moment counts

Now comes the best part: the actual photo shoot. As a business photographer, my job is to make personality visible. I give clear but relaxed instructions and pay attention to posture, facial expressions and charisma. It's not about posed poses, but about naturalness with impact.

A good business shoot is like a conversation at eye level - genuine, lively, empathetic. I observe, empathise, capture. I love it when my clients feel comfortable, laugh and let go after a short time - because that's when the best pictures are created.

Challenges include

Of course, not everything always goes according to plan: sometimes the weather doesn't play ball, an outfit doesn't fit perfectly or the nervousness is greater than expected. This is exactly where the experience of a professional photographer comes in. I remain calm, flexible and solution-orientated. I've shot in cramped offices, on windy beaches, in the rain or at 35 degrees - and still always delivered pictures that my clients loved.

Because that is precisely my aim as a business photographer: to always make the best of the situation - with sensitivity and expertise.

Premium photographer Frankfurt & Mallorca

Follow-up - the invisible part of the work

What many people don't realise: After the shoot, the real work begins. I save the data several times, view hundreds of shots, select the best ones and edit each image in my style: clear, modern, natural - but with professional retouching. No filters, no exaggeration - just honest optimisation.

My clients receive their final images via a password-protected online gallery - in full resolution and social media-friendly versions. Everything is designed for quality, longevity and reusability.

Being a business photographer means understanding brands

What characterises my work: I think not only as a photographer, but also strategically. I ask: Who are you? What do you want to achieve with the pictures? Who should see them? What do you want to radiate?

As a business photographer, I don't just work with models - I work a lot with managers, self-employed people and entrepreneurs. In other words, with people who want to use images to build trust, win customers or strengthen a team. I am part of the brand development, part of the success - and that is a great sign of trust, which I greatly appreciate.
