How the location determines the success of the shoot: Choosing the right shooting location
17 November 2023

Photographer on Mallorca - The connection between the location and the success of the shoot

For business clients, choosing the right location for a photo shoot is crucial. The location where the photos are taken will emphasise and reinforce the impression of your brand. Whether you choose Mallorca or Germany depends on various factors that you should consider carefully. As a photographer in Mallorca and Germany, I mainly shoot outdoors. However, both indoor and outdoor shoots offer photographers and their clients a variety of options with their own advantages and disadvantages. Let's take a closer look at the different options today - after all, the choice of location is crucial to the message your brand will convey.

Mallorca or Germany?

1st Mallorca: The island of Mediterranean flair

When you opt for a photo shoot in Mallorca, you convey a message of elegance, relaxation and a touch of luxury. The picturesque surroundings offer stunning backdrops for outdoor photo shoots, from sun-kissed beaches to charming villages with a Mediterranean flavour. This choice combines your brand with a touch of exoticism and elegance.

The dreamy location also conveys an impression of success in connection with business - those self-employed people who have managed to set up here can look back on a success story. What can inspire more confidence in potential clients than your own career? Mallorca is therefore worthwhile for coaches and freelancers who use their own lifestyle as a definition of success. If you have an idea for a project, I would be happy to realise it with you as a photographer in Mallorca so that you can benefit from my experience.

2 Germany: The backdrop of precision and efficiency

Frankfurt stands for precision, quality and efficiency. When it comes to photo shoots, the city scores with an impressive variety of backdrops and backgrounds. I use historical buildings, modern architecture, green spaces such as the Palmengarten, the riverbank along the Main and much more to create unique and varied images for my shoots. Frankfurt city centre is so great for business shoots because we have an almost endless choice of business buildings with clean, glazed surfaces.

When you choose Germany as the location for your photo shoot, you emphasise the message of professionalism, reliability and high quality. German architecture, modern cities and picturesque landscapes offer a wide range of opportunities for sophisticated photo shoots. This choice can associate your brand with values such as stability and precision. German efficiency is recognised worldwide. Frankfurt is a particularly good choice for managers, lawyers and freelancers from the corporate sector of traditional companies.

Outdoor or indoor?

In addition to the question of the location in the geographical sense, I also take a look together with my clients at whether it is worth choosing between an indoor or outdoor location for their branding.
First of all: I'm a big fan of outdoor photography myself and shoot almost exclusively outdoors. In some special circumstances, however, I also do indoor shoots - for example in the daylight Studio Golden in Frankfurt. Indoors, as a photographer, I can better control the lighting, temperature and other environmental conditions. This allows for consistent image quality. Of course, indoor shoots also score points for being completely independent of the weather, which is a particular advantage in Germany during the winter months. As a photographer on Mallorca, you are a little more independent, as the weather conditions are more reliable all year round than in Germany.

In my experience, some clients feel much more comfortable indoors. Especially during the first photo shoot, the curious glances of passers-by, which are automatically part of the setting during outdoor shoots, can exert subconscious pressure. In terms of props, we also have more access to resources in indoor settings - so if the brand is associated with products or is involved in any kind of performance, an indoor shoot could be the better choice.

Now to the main reason that makes me an advocate of outdoor photography: Indoor shoots often require artificial lighting, which requires technical knowledge and equipment. Outdoor shoots, on the other hand, benefit from natural daylight, which often results in warmer and more natural shots. The choice of locations is also much more varied. Nature offers a variety of backdrops, from forests to beaches to urban scenes. This allows for a wide range of picture styles and shows flexibility in business.

In order to make the right choice, it is therefore important to communicate your specific needs beforehand. This involves an initial call in which we discuss the key question: What does your company stand for?

The decision between Mallorca and Germany, as well as indoor and outdoor, should be closely linked to your brand identity and your target customers. Think about the message you want to convey. If your brand represents a luxurious, relaxed experience, Mallorca may be the perfect choice. If your brand is centred on professionalism, precision and efficiency, Germany may be a better fit for your image. Remember that you are not limited to one location. Depending on your target group, you can consider different locations for photo shoots. However, all of this must always be customised to each of my clients - that's why I look forward to getting to know you. You can reach me at info@leandra-weber.de or via my contact form.

Business photography: 5 steps to a professional presentation on the Internet

Business photography: 5 steps to a professional presentation

A professional online presence is crucial in today's business world. As a freelance photographer, I am no exception. I have been investing in my online presence for years. At the beginning of my self-employment, I was faced with an almost overwhelming task. I wish I'd had a guide like this when I started out in business photography - which is why I've now written one myself. Like me back then, young companies are faced with the challenge of standing out in a digital landscape and conveying a professional image. Professional business photography is only a small part of the whole, alongside corporate brand identity, marketing strategy for SEO and social media and a solid objective.

Whether you're launching a start-up or running an established business, first impressions count and visuals play a crucial role in attracting new customers. Professional photos not only convey credibility, but also show that your company offers high-quality services or products. High-quality photos on websites, social media and as marketing materials are key to successful communication with customers and business partners.

Why a professional presentation with business photography?

This article is a step-by-step guide to a professional online presence. The goal: to make a lasting impression. From defining your business goals to choosing the right photographer and finally realising your vision, these steps will help you harness the power of visual communication and establish a professional image online.

1. define objectives

How can you know the direction if you don't know the destination? Not at all. Regardless of whether it's a start-up or a rebranding: Everything starts with a definition of goals.

The target group must also be taken into account when clearly defining the objectives. Defining the goals should provide a precise understanding of the ideal customer. Where does the target group come from and when is it most active? Which keywords are they googling and which topics are they interested in on social media?

The more knowledge is gathered about the target group, the clearer it becomes what kind of business photography appeals to them. Main times of activity, main areas of interest and the most frequently used social media platforms are clear after the analysis. A defined goal could look like this: Every day at x o'clock, content on topic x should be posted on platform x. Target group analysis and Strategic content creation are other topics that we will discuss in more detail later.

Working with clear numbers is a tangible approach that helped me a lot at the beginning. Specific, measurable goals are easier to set and realise. For example, you could aim to increase the conversion rate on your website by 20 % or double the interaction on your social media platforms.

2. consistent corporate brand identity

For me as a brand and business photographer, one of the biggest points is of course a uniform visual appearance across all social media channels. The whole thing is called corporate brand identity and consists of the fonts, colours, logos and other visual elements that give each brand its unique touch. These communicate the principles of the brand and work with colours and shapes to subtly underline them. A professional brand guide contains all of these elements and ensures that they are used consistently across all platforms. Before we embark on business and brand shoots, I create a small version of this brand guide as a mood board for my clients.

3. website and platform selection

Choosing the right website and platform is the foundation of a professional online presence for every company. It is of crucial importance, as your own website is precisely the place where customers and potential partners get to know your company better. This is where visitors learn more about products or services and, ideally, this is where they should be directed from any other online platform. Of course, this also depends on the type of company: assuming that either your own service or product is to be sold, the website is not only a business card, but also a portfolio and showroom at the same time.

1. choice of domain:

Choosing the right domain is the first step towards a strong online presence. The domain should be easy to remember, easy to spell and directly related to the company name or the products/services offered. This makes it easier to find and leaves a professional impression.

2. hosting platform:

Choosing the right hosting platform is another important aspect. There are various options available here, including WordPress, Wix, Shopify and many more. Each platform offers its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, WordPress is known for its customisability and flexibility, while Shopify is an excellent choice for e-commerce businesses.

3. responsive web design:

In an era where most internet users are using mobile devices, responsive web design is of great importance. A successful website must function optimally and look good on different screen sizes and devices. Otherwise, potential customers are quickly lost. We all know the particularly short patience thread that quickly breaks with a slow-loading website on smartphones or tablets. Make sure that your website is user-friendly and mobile-optimised. A little tip: Google also rewards websites with a functioning responsive design with more reach on the web.

4. user-friendliness and navigation:

An easy-to-understand website with clear, intuitive navigation is crucial. Visitors should be able to easily navigate through the website to quickly find the information they are looking for. A good user experience contributes to the time spent on the website and therefore to the conversion rate.

5. security and data protection:

Security and data protection are non-negotiable. The use of SSL certificates encrypts the transmission of sensitive data. There are also data protection regulations to be observed in order to protect the privacy of customers. Depending on the country of origin, the website, if an online shop, should fulfil certain legal requirements. It is worth having a specialised lawyer check the legal notice and data protection after completion.

Choosing the right website and platform lays the foundation for a professional online presence. It is crucial to plan and execute these steps carefully to ensure that your online presence meets the expectations of your target audience. Should the business be scaled later? Choosing the right foundation stones will determine the success of the future.

4. content strategy

What is a website or social media account without content? Once the foundations for the website are in place, it's time to attract visitors to it. By developing a content strategy, this happens automatically. Content is the centrepiece of any online presence, as it plays a decisive role in how content is communicated and received. The goal: to reach an audience and create added value for the target group.

1. selection of suitable channels

LinkedIn is good for B2B and reaches an older, corporate-orientated target group. When it comes to e-commerce and personal branding, a more visually orientated platform such as Instagram is worthwhile. If the users are very young and you want to start a trend, TikTok is the right choice. The question here relates back to point 1 of this article: What do you want to achieve with your content? In many cases, it can make sense to be present on several platforms in order to cover different aspects of your company and achieve a broader reach.

2. target group analysis

Relevant and appealing content can only be created with a deep understanding of the target group. What is the potential customer's intention when using the relevant platform? The so-called buyer persona represents the ideal customer here. There are very simple templates for this on the Internet: Take a look at the age, origin, areas of interest and activity times of the users. Identify needs, problems and interests. This enables you to create targeted content that appeals to your target group and offers added value.

3. content types

Decide which types of content best suit your goals and your target group. This could be blog posts, videos, infographics, podcasts, case studies, how-to guides or other formats. Variety in your content can help diversify your audience and cover different preferences.

Business photography in Frankfurt am Main
4. content creation

Once the content ideas have been written down, it's time to implement them. A note on my phone has always helped me here - whenever I have a new idea, I write it down straight away. Create high-quality and relevant content in text and visuals that fulfil the needs of the target group. Invest time in accurate research and wording to ensure content is informative and engaging. Develop a publishing schedule to publish content consistently. Blog posts on websites should also be published on Instagram & Co - after all, the primary goal is to generate leads.

5. SEO integration

Google is still the platform with the largest search volume. Integrating SEO techniques into content on the website is worthwhile in order to increase visibility in search engines. This includes the use of relevant keywords, the optimisation of metadata and the creation of high-quality backlinks. I use the Google Keyword Planner and SEObility for this. SEO is a long-term strategy, but it pays off all the more.

5. business photography for professional visual content

Once the corporate brand identity, website, target group and content strategy have been clearly worked out, professional visual content must be created alongside the texts. I often offer business photography for companies in addition to an internal rebranding. If the website, social media and public presentation of the company are to be revised anyway, then a business shoot is the perfect way to emphasise the newly developed corporate values.

Business photography is a powerful tool that can present your company in a variety of ways. I photograph employees, company buildings and everyday working life in a consistent style. These images are then used by my clients across all social media platforms, including the website. The result: a unified presentation through consistent visual aspects online.

In today's digital era, having a professional online presence is crucial to the success of businesses. The five steps we've gone through in this article provide a clear roadmap to creating an impressive presence in the online space. From setting clear goals and choosing the right platforms to developing a solid content strategy, search engine optimisation, social media presence and much more, this provides a solid framework. Your online presence is not only a reflection of your business, but also a powerful tool to attract customers, build trust and ensure long-term success.

Photographer Mallorca: Successful self-employment - 5 tips
6 November 2023

Photographer Mallorca - my path to self-employment

I still remember all the sleepless nights that I had in the first few months of self-employment for free. Coming from a completely different background, it was only my passion for photography, alongside my business studies, that drove me to become a self-employed photographer in Mallorca. In addition to the emotional rollercoaster, it was above all my passion for my chosen profession that kept me on track.
For many people, self-employment is a dream that can only be realised with hard work and commitment. However, I think that perseverance and a clear vision are half the battle. Self-employment, if approached correctly, is easier than you think. Regardless of whether you already have a business idea or are just thinking about starting your own business: With a few tips and tricks, you can take this step without any problems. I learnt a lot at the beginning and would do a lot of things differently today. That's why I've put together my 5 best pieces of advice from 9 years as a freelance photographer in Mallorca for a successful start to self-employment.

Successfully starting your own business is an exciting challenge that requires a mixture of courage and commitment for anyone who dares to take this step. Today, as a photographer in Mallorca, I have experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurship at first hand. I still remember exactly how my environment decided against my decision after my studies in business psychology. Now, 9 years later, I still haven't regretted this decision for a single second, which brings me straight to my first tip:

1. passion as a driving force

Passion for your own work must be the driving force. In self-employment, motivation and commitment are crucial to overcoming challenges. Focus and stamina are much easier to maintain when a personal interest serves as a driving force. So if the choice of self-employment is still open, it is first worth taking a look at the topics that naturally fascinate you. However, if these are not suitable for business, there may be another motivation, such as financial freedom. The important thing is to be aware of why you have decided to become self-employed every step of the way. My enthusiasm for photography became my anchor in tough times and took me from being a photographer in Frankfurt to being a photographer in Mallorca. It helped me to keep my focus and steadily develop into my new profession until I was finally able to fulfil my Mallorca dream.

2. clear business idea and objective

A solid business plan is the key to success and the backbone of any company. Clearly defining goals, target groups, visions and strategies will help define how a business should be built. This plan will provide guidance and help you achieve your goals. The following steps can be used to create a professional business plan:

  • Clear definition of the offering (service or product)
  •  Target group analysis: Ideal customer
  • Market analysis and competitors
  • Goals in the time frame: Corporate ideology and financial targets
  • Strategy
  • Marketing platforms
  • Tax and corporate legal form
  • Financial plan
  • Analysing strengths and weaknesses

3. financial planning and accounting

A thorough understanding of finances is crucial. Make sure you have your income and expenditure under control to ensure financial stability. As with anything you can't or don't want to do yourself, the same applies here: Get help. Invest in accounting software or bring in a professional to optimise your bookkeeping. Better sooner than later, because the more things you accumulate, the more confusing and correspondingly more time-consuming, i.e. more expensive, it will be when you finally find someone to whom you can hand over the work.

4. networking and customer relations

Maintain relationships with other professionals, clients and potential co-operation partners. You never know who will remember a friendly message. Especially at the beginning of self-employment, you should attend networking events, trade fairs and co-working spaces to get in touch with other entrepreneurs on the same path. Often the best customers come from referrals: Word of mouth can significantly boost your business and open up new opportunities. LinkedIn is also always worth a visit for B2B.

5. marketing and online presence

In today's digital world, a strong online presence is essential. Use social media, a professional website and SEO optimisation to position yourself as a professional in your niche. This will help you attract potential clients and make your portfolio visible. Professional presentation on the internet is particularly emphasised by clean marketing - and this includes good business images.

My journey has taken me from modelling to studying business psychology to photography in Frankfurt to fulfilling the long-awaited dream of becoming a photographer in Mallorca. The journey to self-employment of any kind pays off when it is kept alive with passion, a clear plan, a strong online presence, a solid financial foundation and well-maintained relationships. Focus and the drive of your own passion are the fuel on the road to success. The most important thing is to take the first step.

Business pictures with a photographer on Mallorca

In years of working with business clients, I have realised time and again that the biggest challenge is the first step. Even if the business plan, strategy and concept are already in place, many of my clients still find it difficult to implement them. I understand that - a lot has to be done before the momentum starts to make the work easier and easier. It can often feel like working against resistance.

As a photographer in Mallorca, I not only help established coaches and self-employed people to take their business to the next level through professional visual presentation, but also actively support new self-employed people. To this end, I offer business shoots on Mallorca and in Frankfurt. However, before we embark on the first shoot together, we analyse the shared brand and use a mood board to bring the personal unique selling points to the fore. In this way, we create a unique recognition value and take the first step towards a professional presentation on the Internet.

No journey without my camera

Road trip to Tuscany

Today I would like to give you a few insights into my travel photography using Tuscany as an example.

Photography is the best way for me to tell stories. That's why my camera is a must on every journey. Even on short trips, I always have it in my hand luggage with a few lenses. During my travels, I have learnt that the camera is not just a tool for capturing memories, but also a way of expressing my own creativity. Choosing the right angle, setting the exposure and composing the picture are like painting on a canvas every time. I often ask myself before I even press the shutter button whether I would hang this picture up as a canvas at home.

It took me a few years to realise that photography is not just a craft, but also has a lot to do with yourself - with your own personality, your own experiences and simply with how and "through which glasses" you see the world. When I travel to a new city or country, I often feel inspired by the atmosphere, the people and the sights. In this context, I am particularly fond of Italy, or more specifically Tuscany.

In the years before I travelled to Mallorca, I regularly went on road trips to Italy and still have one or two destinations in mind. In addition to the delicious Italian food and the good wines of Tuscany, I am impressed by the hospitality of the people there, the warm atmosphere and, of course, the absolutely picturesque landscape. I have yet to discover another place in the world where I can combine relaxation and photography so easily. The landscape of Tuscany offers so many wonderful impressions that I would like to share here in my blog.

Impressions from our drone pilot

Erik is our drone pilot and videographer. A passion for drone photography coupled with an insatiable wanderlust creates images like these - the world from a new, fascinating perspective. This emerging technology allows us to capture the beauty of our planet from a bird's eye view. Of course, we now also use drone photography for our business shoots on request. These are particularly suitable for large company sites or premises where the images represent added value for the customer. They can provide an overview, show unique architecture or, for example, show a large team with employees. There are virtually no limits to the possibilities here.

Drones enable breathtaking aerial shots of landscapes, cities and natural beauty that often remain undiscovered from the ground. The perspective from above also offers great opportunities for professional teaser videos for website sliders of business buildings and team shots. This makes drone shots a real eye-catcher for the extraordinary presentation of companies of all kinds.

Photographers can now explore unique angles and compositions that were previously difficult to achieve. The results are often artistic and impressive, as the viewer is usually not used to these special views. Drone photography now also plays a major role in business shoots, because the more unusual and captivating the image, the greater the advantage over the competition.

Drone photography is revolutionising the way we view and document our world. It opens up creative possibilities and offers practical benefits in a wide range of industries. Interested in drone photography for your own business? The next shoot is available at info@leandra-weber.de just a message away. We would be happy to provide you with a quote for drone shots of your location, your company headquarters or your team, ideally also directly in conjunction with other professional business images. Shootings for Lascana and other big fashion brands? A new project that I'm realising on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Mallorca. However, I'm not alone: Eva Schug, model and friend, is actively supporting me with the advertising photography on Mallorca.

Eva and I have known each other since we were young, at school to be precise. After school and a few years of corporate life, we both turned our passion into a profession - Eva as a model and I as a photographer. I have been shooting Eva's sedcard since the beginning of her modelling career. Every year we create new content for her modelling portfolio - first in Frankfurt, and now also there thanks to the establishment of my second base on Mallorca. Today we are a well-rehearsed team and understand each other without big words, which makes our collaboration extremely effective.

About Eva

At the age of 35, Eva has been working as a model and actress for over 15 years. In recent years, she has worked with major clients such as Henkell, Dr Oetker, Miele, Lascana and Vergölst. After several years in corporate life, Eva bravely took the plunge into self-employment, thus fulfilling a lifelong dream. For me, this is always inspiring and encouraging at the same time. With this step, Eva has proven that anything is possible with consistency and constant progress.

Together, we specialised in 2018 in staging products of all kinds in a unique and appealing way for our customers. What started out as a little gimmick between photographer and model has now developed into a solid part of both of our self-employment. Whether fashion, jewellery, hotel or food - the perfect synergy between Eva as a model and me as a business photographer Mallorca and Frankfurt has enabled us to capture the unique identity of each brand in an individual way over the last few years. Together we capture the uniqueness of products in every shot and in every video to emphasise the unique selling points of each brand.

In addition to our long-standing friendship, working with Eva shows me time and again how much easier it is to share the work. If we were both tackling this mission alone, we wouldn't be nearly as successful. Together as a team, advertising photography on Mallorca and in Frankfurt is simply much easier for us. The co-operation also allows us to spend more time together despite living in different places.

Advertising photography Mallorca

Advertising photography on Mallorca

In addition to Frankfurt, Mallorca has also crystallised for this part of our collaboration. Mallorca, the beautiful Spanish island in the Mediterranean, serves as a breathtaking backdrop for our brand shoots. Here we find a variety of breathtaking locations, from golden sandy beaches to picturesque mountain landscapes. Mallorca offers the perfect backdrop for any type of product.

Mallorca has set a special standard for fashion brands in particular for years. The simple versatility of the landscape and urban areas are perfect for this genre. This diversity gives various collections a very special touch. Whether for a relaxed beach vibe or a corporate business style, the island has the right location for us. In addition, we both have our own personal connection to this Mediterranean island and the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle only contributes positively to the results of our shoots. Who wouldn't feel particularly inspired in such an environment?

The content we create during our shoots is used by brands for their social media. For fashion brands, this is a cheaper alternative compared to large set-ups and shoots that require large teams to be involved. Eva and I have our own private team on Mallorca that takes care of make-up and other things. We look for the most beautiful locations on the island with the best daylight and lighting conditions to present the new collections appropriately.

Advertising photography in Frankfurt

Our brand shoots in Germany offer a blend of precision and creativity. From the modern cities to the picturesque rural areas of Germany, we have access to a variety of unique locations. Here we work more with brands that present products of a slightly different kind. Where Mallorca serves us as a stage for fashion, Frankfurt serves us as a showcase for products and services.

With the skyline and the many glazed surfaces in the city itself, as well as the fantastic daylight studio Golden, we have many locations to choose from here. All of them emphasise seriousness and effectiveness in a particularly eloquent way. In addition to her many years of experience as a model, Eva also has great expertise in the field of presentation. That's why we don't just work with static images in the field of advertising photography, but also with videos and moving montages.

Our long-term goal is to make fashion brands aware of us and to offer them attractive co-operations on Mallorca and in Frankfurt. In this context, Eva is not the only model I work with in terms of commercial photography Mallorca. I look forward to introducing more models and I look forward to receiving enquiries about product and advertising photography on Mallorca and in Frankfurt.

Model photography with Bestager model Pia Bausch
28 October 2023

In my career as a photographer, I have photographed many things - weddings, business campaigns, products, spectacular landscapes. But above all people of all ages and from all walks of life. Each type of photography comes with its own opportunities and challenges. Working as a model photographer in Frankfurt and Mallorca in particular brings me into contact with the most exciting people time and time again. So also with Pia Bauschwho booked me 2 years ago for a home garden story for her sedcard.

After we shot her sedcard in Frankfurt, Pia visited me on Mallorca for another shoot. We also had another business shoot this year in September. That's exactly what I love about being a model photographer: most of my clients come back to me again and again. This gives me the chance to accompany them throughout the entire modelling career process. Seeing how the models continue to develop over the years allows me to capture their evolution in pictures and thus create a complete picture of the person.

Model photographer

About Pia

Pia is one of those people for whom the process of development could not be more obvious. This is evident in her past alone. Through continuous reinvention in her career, Pia has reinvented herself time and time again. Coming from the IT industry, early retirement has opened up new professional opportunities. If it hadn't been for corona, Pia would have gone back to university at the age of 55 and studied interior design.

However, as studying online was not an option for her, Pia came across something completely new by pure chance: modelling. Driven her whole life by curiosity and drive, Pia has dedicated herself completely to her new passion. If I had told her a few years ago that she would start a modelling career, she would probably have called me crazy. Today we know that there is nothing greater for her than being in front of the camera and experiencing the special atmosphere on set.

Pia's way

As already mentioned, Pia has completely reinvented herself in her mid-50s. On the one hand, this is very inspiring for me. On the other hand, it is also fascinating because I will continue to accompany Pia on her journey over the coming years. Today she is a sought-after bestager model for a wide range of advertising films, image films and countless photo shoots.

I have already photographed Pia in a wide variety of settings and therefore know myself how versatile she is. This is also evident from the big brand names she has already worked with: Indoba Unternehmensgruppe GmbH, Biologische Heilmittel Heel GmbH, Beka Hospitec GmbH, Drägerwerk AG, Nudecosmetics Gmbh, Magazin Tina and a whole host of tourism organisations, to name but a few.

Pia is not only in great demand for static photography, but also shoots advertising and image films as well as video clips for her clients. Her life motto helps here: "I love to laugh for my life!". Because in advertising, of course, "laughter is in demand".

The challenges of model photography

At every shoot, Pia reminds me how challenging modelling actually is. For both of us as models and model photographers, this art form brings its own challenges.

Choice of locationThe choice of location can have a significant impact on the overall impression of a photo shoot. It should match the message of the photo and emphasise the meaning and purpose of the campaign. This is worked out together in dialogue with the model. In addition, the choice of clothing for the corresponding theme of the shoot is of particular importance. This is why it is particularly important for sedcard shoots that the clothes match. To the model, the theme and also the location.

The shoot

  • Poses and expressionModels must be able to master different poses and facial expressions. This requires practice and self-confidence. As a photographer, I also have to keep an overview of what has already been shot and what has not.
  • Natural lightingGood light is crucial for successful shots. The model photographer must understand how natural light sources can be optimally utilised. I always recommend Mallorca for this. This island with its soft light in the morning and evening hours offers optimal conditions.
  • CommunicationCommunication between photographer and model is of the utmost importance. The model must understand what the photographer wants. But the photographer must also be able to direct the model into the desired poses. Pia and I have a great communication channel here, because we are already a well-rehearsed team. This is also reflected later in good results that satisfy clients and agencies.

Post-processing

Editing and retouchingThe post-processing of the images is an important step in creating the desired mood and atmosphere. Thanks to years of experience, I have a good eye for colour correction and subtle skin retouching to perfect the images. The exception here are sedcard shoots, which should show the model as naturally as possible. With best-ager models in particular, only minimal retouching should be carried out, as the model wants to be booked as a "best-ager" and the retouching must not make her look too young.

In this day and age where visual presence on social media and in the modelling industry is crucial, models are constantly in need of new images. I work closely with my fashion industry clients and enjoy the process that makes me as a model photographer and the model work a little better together with each shoot. With varied, professional images in a consistent style from the same photographer, my models can stand out from the competition online.

Brand Photography with Christina Hagedorn
23 October 2023

In the digital age, who hasn't heard themselves speaking on videos or in voice messages? Only a few people find their own voice pleasant - I was one of them some time ago. That's how I became aware of Christina Hagedorn, a voice coach from Frankfurt. Our journey together has taken us from voice coaching to brand photography - find out more about Christina and our shoot here.

Christina Hagedorn is an experienced voice and rhetoric trainer with over 20 years of professional experience. As a state-approved speech therapist specialising in voice and speech and a qualified actress, she has unique expertise. She is a member of the German Society for Speech Science and Speech Training (DGSS), Communication trainer and systemic coach. Christina helps companies, corporations, universities and myself to access the full potential of their own voice, improve their performances and overcome stage fright.

Brand photography for voice and rhetoric training

Christina Hagedorn offers personalised voice and public speaking training to help people improve their communication skills and ensure convincing performances. Through her many years of experience as trainer & coach, voice therapist As an actress, she is able to respond specifically to the needs of her clients and offer customised solutions.

The very special thing about it: Christina knows not only the highs but also the lows of performing, acting and public speaking. Through her acting training, she has experienced the fear and sometimes also the shame first-hand. As a result, Christina is able to empathise with the situation of her clients.

With her expertise in voice and speech, Christina helps her clients to optimise their vocal skills. She works on breathing, articulation, emphasis and modulation to develop a clear and powerful voice. I was surprised myself at how much posture and breathing have to do with the expressiveness of the voice. It also helps to improve individual speaking style in order to convey effective messages - a core skill for any self-employed person.

Rhetoric is another focus of Christina Hagedorn's training. She teaches her clients the art of persuasive communication and helps them to improve their rhetorical skills. Whether it is about Presenting or giving speechesChristina helps her clients to convey any message clearly and convincingly. With her expertise in voice and rhetoric, Christina has helped me in just a few sessions to gain better access to my way of expressing myself.

Stage fright coaching

For many people, stage fright is a major challenge. The fear of being on stage paralyses and limits them. Christina Hagedorn offers specialised stage fright coaching to help her clients overcome their nervousness and perform with confidence.

She works with her clients to develop various techniques and strategies to deal with stage fright. Through PEP (performance coaching according to Dr Bohne) and mental preparation, she helps people in performance situations to realise their full potential on stage and in performance and examination situations in front of an audience.

Coaching for companies, groups and universities

Another key aspect of Christina's work is that she works as a coach and trainer for companies, corporations and universities. She offers customised workshops and training courses to improve the communication skills of employees and managers at all levels. This is exactly how I became aware of her: I came across Christina online with the desire to make better use of my voice on social media as a voice over and was impressed by her expertise.

The brand photography shoot with Christina

From our sessions together, which gave me confidence and self-confidence in my voice, I was not only able to take away new knowledge about voice pitch & co, but also a new client. I was able to help Christina to further promote her brand with my experience in brand photography. Together we shot images for LinkedIn and Instagram to visualise Christina's coaching business and its core values.

Before we started our brand photography shoot, Christina and I worked together to identify the core values of your brand. Christina stands for self-confident & empathetic behaviour. In addition to this conscious demeanour, Christiana also embodies something else: the infallible ability to feel 100 % comfortable in her own skin for the moment of the appearance or shoot. According to Christina, insecurity or tension often manifests itself first in the voice and posture. The best remedy for this: Working on a positive mindset before the performance or shoot.

By choosing vibrant colours in the outfit during the photo shoot, we create an alert, attentive impression that is underlined by relaxed poses, a confident smile and an inviting attitude. Brand photography with Christina has once again shown me how much the individual qualities of each personal brand can be optimally emphasised through the right choice of setting, outfit and pose.

I love the challenge that comes with every new brand photography shoot: First getting to know the person and then the brand with all its values and then capturing this knowledge with the camera, the choice of the right setting and skilful post-processing. Are you planning a brand photography shoot? The shoot is just a message away.

5 tips for effective branding photography from my shoots
20 October 2023

Branding photography means capturing you or your company with recognition value. Brand image is crucial to standing out in today's competitive business world and gaining a competitive advantage. The internet is overflowing with visual stimuli. This makes it all the more important to make a good impression. Strong branding can increase awareness, strengthen the trust of the target group and promote long-term success. In this article, we'll take a closer look at examples of effective branding from my shoots that will help build and strengthen your brand. Using these examples, I have identified my top 5 tips for effective branding.

1. define your brand identity

Before you start branding, it is crucial to define your brand identity. What are your values, mission and vision? Who is your target group? What problems do you solve for your customers? These fundamental questions will help you clearly position your brand and shape your message. Professional branding photography ensures that the answers to these questions are visible to your potential customers.

The first associations in terms of colour and choice of tone are then made on the basis of this. These are of course directly reflected in the imagery, such as here in the shoot with Christiane Barho. As a coach, your appearance is professional, elegant, but also approachable. The open posture and the serious black colour in the pictures communicate these values directly.

2. develop a consistent brand image

Your visual appearance, including logo, colour scheme and fonts, should be consistent. A consistent design creates recognition and trust from your target audience. Potential customers will recognise you across different platforms based on these features, giving you the chance to use the most powerful tool in marketing: Repetition. What the human mind processes again and again automatically awakens a feeling of familiarity, which is the basis for every sale.

3. branding photography: tell your personal story

Stories are powerful tools in branding. Tell your company story, how you started and what obstacles you had to overcome. This connects people emotionally with your brand. This so-called storytelling builds a personal connection between the audience and the content.

It therefore shows that there is a real person behind the brand who may have originally been confronted with exactly the same problems as the audience. Storytelling is an incomparably powerful tool, especially for self-employed people in the field of coaching.

We also supported the storytelling in the photo shoot with Anke through the choice of outfit. Brightly coloured but still serious, the shoot conveys a certain lightness.

4. position yourself as an expert

Build up your expertise in your industry and share it. Publish articles, give talks and appear on social media as an expert. This increases your credibility and strengthens your brand image. Various groups are available for this, especially on LinkedIn. In terms of imagery, it always looks professional to have yourself photographed at work, in meetings or with your computer.

5. create unique value propositions

Your brand should offer a unique value proposition that speaks directly to your target audience. Branding photography can do just that. What benefit do customers receive when they choose your products or services? Communicate this value clearly, including in the imagery.

My business clients come to me with the confidence that I understand their perspective. This understanding is reflected in my own images - I present myself as a successful self-employed person and can therefore reassure my clients without too many words that I can also show their best side in the best light.

Effective branding is an indispensable component of business success. It is about anchoring your company in the minds of your target group and building trust. With the tips above, you can strengthen your brand identity, improve your positioning and build a strong and lasting connection with your customers. Remember that branding takes time and commitment, but the long-term benefits are worth it. Start now and make your brand successful!

5 social media tips for successful Instagram marketing
13 October 2023

Social media tips are interesting for every self-employed person, not just photographers. In today's digital era, Instagram has become an important marketing tool for freelancers to showcase their services and products. As a photographer in Mallorca and Germany who knows her way around the world of visual aesthetics, I have been using the platform for years. On the one hand, to market my service myself, and on the other, to be able to provide my clients with the best possible results for their feed. Accordingly, I have been observing the platform from the perspective of a self-employed person for several years now, and I have learnt a lot in the process. Here are my 5 best tips for Instagram!

1st social media tip: Storytelling through images

For me, this is one of the most important of all social media tips! Instagram is a platform based on visual content, so it's important to tell a personal story through pictures and videos. As a self-employed person, you have a unique story to share. Where did you start, what challenges did you face on your journey to success, what people did you meet along the way? Use the power of visual storytelling to show your personality, passion and expertise. Create a visual identity that reflects your brand while appealing to your audience. The content should always offer the audience added value, i.e. followers should either learn something from it or feel addressed on an emotional level.

2. investment in the quality of the photos

The quality of photos is crucial to stand out from the crowd. Millions of images are published on Instagram every day. As a photographer, I know how important it is to use professionally shot images. Remember that your Instagram feed acts as your digital business card. Invest in quality equipment and/or the services of a professional photographer to ensure your images are engaging and capture the attention of your target audience. A little side note: Before embarking on the Instagram project with fervour, make sure it's the right platform in the first place. For self-employed people in the creative industry, Pinterest may be more suitable, whereas self-employed people in the IT industry should focus more on LinkedIn.

3. a classic social media tip: Targeted use of hashtags

Are hashtags out of fashion? My opinion: Not at all! Hashtags are a powerful tool for making posts accessible to a broader target group outside of your usual audience. Research relevant hashtags in your industry and use them strategically in your posts. Choose wisely here. Two highly frequented and three less popular hashtags should suffice. A balanced selection, used with consistency, can increase visibility and attract new followers. Recently in particular, some customers have told me that they have found me via hashtags. And because this is what ultimately matters in marketing, these social media tips are still absolutely important and highly topical 🙂

4. interaction with the audience

Instagram is not a one-way street. It is important to actively interact with your audience in order to play to their interests as efficiently as possible. Reply to comments, take part in discussions under popular posts and show interest in your followers' content. This creates a closer bond, encourages engagement, which positively influences the algorithm and, over time, builds connections that can more easily turn into clients. Take time to respond to messages and comments. Set yourself a time limit to complete this task every day. Again, consistency is key!

5 A basic social media tip: Visual consistency across platforms

The last and perhaps most important social media tip in general is visual consistency across different platforms. Your Instagram presence should harmonise seamlessly with your overall online presence, including your website and other social media. Use professional images to emphasise your professional skills as a self-employed person. The recognition value created by this visual consistency will pay off over time. Interested individuals will recognise you, and this familiarity can easily be converted into paying customers. Instagram photos should have a clear style and a coherent aesthetic that represents your brand.

Social Media Tips

Instagram can be a powerful marketing tool if used correctly. As a photographer, I recommend that you carefully design your visual presence. This will engage your audience and build long-term customer relationships. Of course, a lot of energy should be put into creating a uniform appearance, but perfectionism is out of place at the beginning. Only by taking the actual first step will you recognise what you can improve in your visual appearance.

This is where I can provide my clients with the best possible support. After getting to know each other, we work together to create a mood board that emphasises the actual elements of your brand. We choose the colour and setting for the photo shoot, giving your Instagram presence visual consistency in line with your values. Depending on the intentions and priorities in the brand message, I offer shoots in Mallorca and Frankfurt. In both locations, we have a huge selection of locations with which we can create a uniform yet varied portfolio of personal branding images for you. Feel free to enquire via the button to start your career 2024 with a professional rebranding.
